📌 Job Overview

GE Vernova is looking for a Lead Finance Specialist – Statutory to manage statutory audits, technical accounting compliance, financial reporting, and local regulatory filings across Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria.

This role requires deep knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAP, along with strong analytical and audit experience.

The role is remote and involves driving compliance, internal controls, and process excellence across multiple entities.

💼 Responsibilities

Statutory Compliance & Audit

Lead statutory audits with external auditors.

Extract and convert US GAAP trial balance into local GAAP through required adjustments.

Prepare the full set of financial statements and coordinate sign-off with auditors.

Provide documentation, answer queries, and finalize audit requirements.

Prepare board meeting minutes, management reports, and ensure timely filing with authorities.

Submit annual corporate income tax returns.

Accounting Operations & Reconciliation

Maintain statutory books under local GAAP requirements.

Coordinate with internal business units on statutory bookkeeping.

Prepare full reconciliation between US GAAP and statutory books.

Support tax teams in filing direct tax returns on time.

Apply analytical judgment to resolve accounting and operational issues.

Leadership & Advisory

Guide junior team members and support small-scale projects.

Handle sensitive topics and ensure consensus across stakeholders.

Recommend solutions and improvements beyond standard parameters.

🎯 Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in statutory audits and local compliance in Morocco/Tunisia/Algeria.

Minimum 3 years’ experience with IFRS and US GAAP.

Fluency in English and French.

⭐ Preferred Qualifications

Experience with a Big 10 audit firm.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to independently lead statutory audits.

Solid project management and documentation abilities.
