**micro1** is hiring a **Software Engineer, Data Platforms** for an AI-native full-stack engineering role building human data platforms.
This role sits between **Full-Stack Engineering and Research Engineering**, with ownership across backend services, data pipelines, React frontends, and production platform infrastructure.
### 🚀 What You’ll Own
• Build and ship full-stack features across **APIs, data pipelines, and React**
• Own client-facing data delivery, exports, access control, and platform reliability
• Work with **coding agents** as a primary development workflow
• Build and maintain services using **Python, FastAPI, and TypeScript**
• Develop React-based frontends
• Work on data modeling, schema design, and query performance
• Work with relational and document databases
• Collaborate with Research Engineering, Operations, and Product
• Improve frameworks, checks, and evaluations for agent-driven development
• Troubleshoot production issues and build resilient, observable systems
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering**, or related field — or equivalent practical experience
• **0–5 years of software engineering experience**, or strong shipped projects as a recent graduate
• Strong **Python + TypeScript** fundamentals
• Experience with **FastAPI/Flask and React**
• Working knowledge of **PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQLite**
• Data modeling fundamentals
• Experience deploying services on **GCP, AWS, or Azure**
• Hands-on experience with coding agents such as **Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex**
• Ability to turn outcomes into plans, direct coding agents, verify results, and identify architectural issues
• Understanding of **agent loops, MCP, tool/data integrations, permissions, and security**
• Familiarity with **context management, RAG, and evals**
### ⭐ Preferred
• Exposure to **Reinforcement Learning (RL)** concepts and environments
• Experience building data pipelines or task-authoring platforms
• CI/CD and DevOps fundamentals
• Team projects, open-source, or startup experience
