 Accountant – Cairo, Egypt

A leading international school in Cairo is seeking a highly skilled Accountant with 2 to 5 years of experience to manage day-to-day accounting operations and support financial management at all levels. Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily accounting operations including journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.

Prepare monthly closing reports, including trial balances, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.

Handle tuition billing, collections, refunds, scholarships, and discounts, reconciling with the Admissions department.

Coordinate payroll with Human Resources: process monthly salaries, overtime, deductions, incentives, social insurance, and taxes accurately and on time.

Manage petty cash and expense claims, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.

Assist in budget preparation, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis.

Ensure compliance with Egyptian Accounting Standards, tax regulations, and social insurance requirements; support audits and statutory filings.

Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and produce weekly financial reports for management review.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

2–3 years of accounting experience; experience in the education sector is a plus.

Solid knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards and taxes (VAT, payroll tax, withholding tax).

Proficient in Excel and accounting software with strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail.

Excellent English and Arabic communication skills.

High integrity, confidentiality, and ability to work on-site, including occasional extended hours at month-end.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: EGP 15,000–22,000 gross per month, depending on experience.
