TotalEnergies is seeking a highly skilled GL Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Cairo. This role offers the opportunity to manage multi-entity general ledger operations, statutory reporting, and fixed assets management while leading a high-performing team.
📝 Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
Manage a team of 2 accountants, providing coaching, mentoring, and development.
Set team objectives aligned with accounting department goals.
Foster a high-performing environment to ensure best-in-class operations.
Statutory Financial Statements & Audit Process
Manage yearly statutory financial statements for six entities and consolidated statements.
Oversee quarterly IFRS group reporting pack preparation.
Supervise monthly board requirements, trial balances, disclosures, and elimination entries.
Manage external audits (interim & year-end) and implement audit recommendations.
Ensure compliance with Egyptian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
Fixed Assets Management
Manage capitalization, depreciation, impairments, disposals, and reconciliation for fixed and intangible assets across multiple entities.
Process transfers, reclassifications, and disclosure reporting.
Oversee work-in-progress capitalization accuracy.
General Ledger Activities
Lead month-end and year-end closure processes.
Conduct balance sheet and general ledger account analyses.
Manage monthly payroll reconciliations, foreign currency revaluation, petty cash, and accruals.
Ensure accuracy of all general ledger transactions and reporting.
Compliance & Risk Management
Implement Anti-Corruption, Antitrust Compliance, and Integrity Policies.
Conduct due diligence processes.
Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and 12 golden rules.
🎓 Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Proven experience in multi-entity accounting and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards, IFRS, and statutory reporting
Experience managing fixed assets and general ledger operations
Leadership, mentoring, and team management skills
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Office
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
