Axis is looking for an experienced **Backend Software Engineer** to help build robust and scalable backend services powering its fintech and digital payment applications.
### 🔹 Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain and enhance backend services
• Build scalable microservices and distributed applications
• Apply **Domain-Driven Design (DDD)** principles
• Develop event-driven services and asynchronous workflows
• Work with workflow orchestration technologies such as **Temporal**
• Design RESTful APIs and service-to-service integrations
• Debug and resolve issues across distributed and production environments
• Write clean, maintainable and testable code
• Develop unit and integration tests
• Monitor application health, performance and reliability
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, QA and DevOps teams
• Participate in Agile development practices
Job Requirements:
• **2–5 years** of professional software engineering experience
• Strong backend development experience
• Proficiency in at least one of **Go, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript**
• Experience with **Spring Boot, Node.js, Express.js or NestJS**
• Understanding of microservices and distributed applications
• Practical knowledge of **DDD**
• Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication
• Experience with **MongoDB or other NoSQL databases**
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design
• Experience with unit & integration testing
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of monitoring, logging, metrics and distributed tracing
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, clean code and SOLID principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
### ⭐ Nice to Have:
• Temporal or other workflow orchestration platforms
• Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar messaging technologies
• Docker & Kubernetes
• CI/CD practices
• FinTech, payments or banking experience
• Distributed systems concepts such as idempotency, retries and fault tolerance
