### About the Role
micro1 is selecting **expert Senior Software Engineers** to support an innovative customer project focused on training next-generation AI systems.
Your software engineering expertise will help improve how AI models **learn, reason, and solve complex software engineering problems**.
🚨 **No prior AI experience is required — your domain expertise is what matters.**
### What You’ll Do
🔹 Create **Reinforcement Learning Environments** to test AI models on complex coding challenges
🔹 Build reproducible environments and **golden reference solutions**
🔹 Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects
🔹 Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks
🔹 Implement robust and scalable new features
🔹 Refactor legacy code to improve clarity, efficiency, and reliability
🔹 Contribute expert-level code samples and debugging strategies
🔹 Document technical reasoning, solution approaches, and code decisions
🔹 Review and validate peer-contributed code and technical submissions
Job Requirements:
✅ Strong expertise in at least one of:
**Python 3 • Java • Rust • Go • C++ • TypeScript**
✅ Strong knowledge of **Algorithms & Data Structures**
✅ Software engineering fundamentals
✅ Complex bug fixing and debugging
✅ Feature implementation
✅ Codebase refactoring
✅ Performance optimization
### Preferred Qualifications
🔹 Experience working with large codebases and legacy systems
🔹 Proven ability to solve complex technical problems
🔹 Experience delivering features from conception through delivery
🔹 Strong technical documentation and communication skills
🔹 Interest in AI and emerging technical challenges
🤖 **AI experience is NOT required.**
### 💵 Compensation
Payment is **output-based**. Experts are paid per task that meets the project specifications.
⏱️ Task completion time may vary depending on experience and workflow. Minimum weekly task submission requirements apply.
⚡ **Start Timeline:** Roles are typically filled within 48 hours. Selected experts are expected to start their first tasks within **24–48 hours after onboarding**.
