micro1 is looking for a **Senior Database Reliability Engineer** to architect, optimize, and maintain mission-critical PostgreSQL environments across a cloud-native infrastructure.
**Key Responsibilities:**
🔹 Design and manage highly available PostgreSQL architectures using **AWS RDS & Aurora PostgreSQL**
🔹 Optimize queries, indexes, partitioning, and database performance
🔹 Build reliable backup, replication, disaster recovery, and failover solutions
🔹 Troubleshoot slow queries, locks, deadlocks, and complex database bottlenecks
🔹 Automate database maintenance and improve operational reliability
🔹 Support data migrations, application scaling, and new product features
🔹 Maintain clear technical documentation and collaborate with remote teams
Job Requirements:
✅ 5+ years managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases in production
✅ Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, query tuning, indexing, partitioning & replication
✅ Strong hands-on experience with **AWS RDS & Aurora PostgreSQL**
✅ Experience with large-scale, high-traffic databases
✅ Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
✅ Excellent written and verbal communication
✅ Ability to work independently in a remote environment
**Nice to Have:**
➕ Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
➕ CI/CD pipelines
➕ ETL and analytics workloads
➕ Modern data architectures & monitoring tools
