### 🔎 About the Role
Banque Misr is looking for a **Java Software Engineer** to work with product and design teams to understand end-user requirements and translate them into practical, scalable technical solutions.
The role covers **backend development, REST APIs, microservices, databases, testing, CI/CD and application security** across large-scale distributed applications.
### 🎯 Key Responsibilities
🔹 Design and implement technology and business solutions
🔹 Develop creative and efficient software solutions using modern development technologies
🔹 Collaborate with engineering teams to implement **user stories and new product functionality**
🔹 Write automated tests and continuously improve existing applications
🔹 Work with internal IT teams to resolve technical dependencies
🔹 Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
🔹 Apply engineering best practices including **refactoring, design patterns, TDD and continuous integration**
🔹 Contribute to application security and highly scalable system design
Job Requirements:
✔️ Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science or a related field**
✔️ **Engineer I:** 0–2 years of software development experience
✔️ **Engineer II:** 2–4 years
✔️ **Engineer III:** 4–6 years
✔️ Strong experience with **Java 8+**, Kotlin and/or Spring Boot
✔️ Experience developing and securing **RESTful APIs**
✔️ Knowledge of **microservice architecture**, service discovery and circuit breakers
✔️ Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as **Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, Cassandra or Elasticsearch**
✔️ Build and CI/CD tools such as **Maven, Gradle, Jenkins and/or Azure Pipelines**
✔️ Experience with scalable applications, application security and continuous integration
✔️ Familiarity with **Agile development methodologies**
### ➕ Nice to Have
Docker / Kubernetes experience is a plus.
Knowledge of **Node.js, Go or Python** is also a plus.
